I'm Shannon, and I'm a storyteller.
Stories have always been how I make sense of the world. Whether they're told through the pages of a novel, the frame of a lens, or the careful revision of a manuscript, I believe stories have the power to connect us, challenge us, and stay with us long after they're finished.
I'm an author, filmmaker, and creative writing professional dedicated to helping meaningful stories find their strongest voice. As a novelist and screenwriter, I'm drawn to emotionally rich characters, layered relationships, and stories that invite readers and audiences to laugh, feel deeply, and see the world from a new perspective. I thrive in rom-com, YA, and cozy mysteries.
As a filmmaker, I bring those same storytelling principles to the screen, collaborating with talented artists to transform ideas into visual experiences. With over two decades in the film industry I'm an award winning screenwriter, line producer, 1st AD, producer.
Beyond creating my own work, I love helping other writers shape theirs. Through copyediting, line editing, and developmental consultation, I work alongside authors to strengthen structure, sharpen prose, deepen character, and uncover the heart of each story. Editing isn't about changing a writer's voice but about helping that voice shine more clearly.
My background spans more than just the creative world but also in the professional world leading marketing teams, providing leadership guidance, and strategic communications. I hold an Associate of Applied Science in Digital Cinematography, a Bachelor's degree in Communication with a concentration in Marketing. I'm currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Creative Writing, where I'm continuing to deepen my craft as both a writer and editor.
When I'm not writing or behind the camera, you'll probably find me reading by the pool, exploring the Ozarks with my family, painting, attending a theatre production, or chasing the excitement of learning something new. (right now that's figure skating!)
Life is wonderfully full with my husband, our two children, our Australian Shepherd (Truman), our orange cat (Kit Cat), and Josephine III, our endlessly curious ferret.
